Comprehensive Plan
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires every school district in the Commonwealth to develop and submit a comprehensive plan every three (3) years. The comprehensive plan acts as a road map – giving clarity, unity, and direction to the district’s efforts. The Comprehensive Plan is dictated by a consistent planning framework for all entities that focuses on continuous improvement.
The District is currently working on the Comprehensive Plan for 2025-2028.
The process includes six sections: Profile, Core Foundations, Assurances, Needs Assessment, Action Planning, and Plan Submission. Opportunities to create, assess, and adjust throughout the cycle empowers local education agencies and schools to engage all stakeholders in pursuit of a shared vision for student success.
The comprehensive plan is the vehicle for defining and addressing the district's most critical educational issues. A school entity shall make its comprehensive plan, professional education plan, and induction plan available for public inspection and comment for a minimum of 28 days prior to approval of the plan by the school entity's governing board and submission of the plan to the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The Comprehensive Plan for July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025 was approved by the NCSD Board of School Directors in November 2022.
