Superintendent's Welcome

Hello Parents and Students,

 

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

 

I am excited and honored to be your Superintendent at the Northern Cambria School District. I am happy to be back in my alma mater. My home is in Nicktown, PA  but I grew up in Spangler. My husband Basil also attended NC schools but grew up in Barnesboro.

 

I have been in the District officially since May 16th and I am impressed with the staff and facilities here at Northern Cambria. The Principals and I had a very busy summer preparing for this school year. My initiatives for this school year include self-care for my staff, a review of curricula and of course continuing to increase student success.

 

Other exciting news....our school District received $228,500 from the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency for improvements to School Safety and Mental Health Supports.  With this grant money we will be able to provide two (2) security officers, a School Resource Officer with the Borough and an armed Security Guard through Gittings. To address the mental health needs of our staff and students we will provide a full time School Social Worker and several additional mental health counselor for on-site counseling at the school.

 

I look forward to a great school year and meeting all of the students very soon.
